Whether to wither or whither

I don't usually mind change. Usually, I like it. I appreciate it. And my wife and I will be making some big changes in location this coming September.

Update:
I've just reinstalled my website -- Garbl's Writing Center -- at a new location. I haven't yet checked to make sure all the links are up-to-date. But here's the new address: home.wavecable.com/~garblswritingcenter/.
Thanks for your interest!
Gary

In summer 2015, I was notified about another type of location change thatreally bugged me. For the fourth time since November 1997, my website -- Garbl's Writing Center -- must move to a new location, with new Web addresses, because of changes made by my Internet service provider. I must make that change by Oct. 8, 2015.

Or not. I've developed and managed this site for 18 years, but unlike with previous changes, the current provider (Comcast) isn't providing any alternatives. It's simply killing the Web hosting service (with no reduction in our total service fees, of course).

And I'm not highly motivated to continue putting in the energy and effort to manage the site -- after finding and paying for a new Web host. I've gotten a lot of personal value out of developing the site, first using it to learn HTML coding and website design and management, then enhancing and promoting the site as a free service that grew in popularity and use over the years.

I liked getting mostly appreciative comments about the site, questions about writing, requests for additions to the site, and even occasional suggestions for corrections and clarifications. But during the past five years or so, especially since I retired in 2011, I haven't put much effort into enhancing the site, besides occasionally checking and fixing or eliminating bad links.

Perhaps our pending move to Port Townsend means it's time for me to move on from managing a website about writing and, instead, write the next Great American Novel!
